This position is responsible for the transport and delivery of freight on time in a professional manner by driving diesel-powered tractor trailer combinations short and or long distances, while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


Applicants will be considered for any shuttle driver type opening. Tasks include, but are not limited to, transporting raw and finished goods between Enid facilities, backing trailers to dock doors for loading and unloading purposes. Shuttle Drivers transport finished goods to and from outside cold storage. Shuttle Drivers must monitor trailer temperatures within the yard. General maintenance of trailers kept in the DC Yard such as fueling, oil and wash-out are included in this position. The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence and organize concepts on paper, speak effectively to employees of organization, and file information alphabetically. Must have the ability to do simple math functions in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The candidate will need basic computer skills to complete required training or tasks. Other physical tasks of this position will be to stand, sit, bend, walk, stretch, climb, push, pull, kneel, squat and reach. The Candidate must be willing to lift, carry, push, and pull 20-70 pounds. This position has a fixed schedule of 3 days on


Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have a current and valid appropriate driver s license for the type of vehicle that will be operated. Applicants must have 12 months verified experience in a like vehicle or 9 months, if the experience is in the last 12 months. The applicant should also be able to read and speak sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records. If an applicant meets Tysons minimum requirements for consideration, they may be contacted for an interview.
